It’s a beautiful car...but who on Earth gold-packages a Supra?

I had a dream where I found a silver n/a auto, non-running barnfind Mk4. I deliberated whether it was worth it.

I woke up after thinking “I’ll just overnight some parts from Japan”

I gotta think that was done when new. That stuff was real popular back then, but aged poorly

I’m sure you’re right. The 90s were weird.

Yeah, and import car dealers were notorious for getting cars in and immediately installing a bunch of crap like that to jack up their margins. $1000 for $100 worth of badges.

Source: I worked at a Honda dealer in the early 90s.

Yeah, at least one of the major Toyota distributors on the Eastern seaboard was infamous for this. They literally made a new trim level of the Toyota Celica, the STX, which was just a base model ST with $1500 of pinstripes, gaudy wheels, and aftermarket interior treatments.

Ha! Those cars were in such high demand, owning a Toyota or Honda dealer was a license to steal for quite some time.

Aww. Yeah my work day was long yesterday but not that long. At least my flight home from Oakland was on time.

Nah, back in Denver. Flew to Oakland and back yesterday and if I’d remembered I was going I wouldn’t have signed up to run, but I lived :)
